Vintage Pi Alpha Sigma (ΠΑΣ) Fraternity Watch Fob Key Pendant — Greek Letter — C.A.C. — 1950
A handsome example of the classic coffin-shaped paddle key watch fob used by American Greek letter fraternities and sororities from the late 19th through mid-20th century. The front face displays the Greek letters Π — Α — Σ (Pi Alpha Sigma) in raised relief arranged diagonally across a matte gold-tone ground with a sash design. The reverse is engraved with the initials C.A.C. and the year 1950, personalizing this piece to its original owner. It also carries the maker’s mark LGB and is stamped 1/10 10K GF (Gold Filled), confirming genuine 10 karat gold-filled construction — the gold layer constitutes 1/10th of the total metal weight, making this a quality piece with real gold content rather than simple gold-tone plating.
The fob is fitted with a double-ring swivel bail at the top for attachment to a pocket watch chain or vest chain, and a decorative key stem at the bottom — the traditional form for fraternity presentation keys of this era. The back carries maker’s marks including LGB and what appears to be a gold-filled designation, suggesting quality construction beyond simple gold-tone plating.
Condition: Vintage with surface scratches and wear consistent with age and handling. The bail and key stem are intact. The Greek letters and engraving remain legible and crisp. Please review all photos carefully.
Great for: Greek letter memorabilia collectors, Pi Alpha Sigma alumni and historians, watch fob collectors, fraternity antique collectors, and mid-century Americana enthusiasts.
