Offered together: two 1914 first editions by Michael Monahan, both warmly inscribed and signed by the author to writer and anthologist Robert Frothingham in February 1917.
At the Sign of the Van: Being the Log of the Papyrus with Other Escapades in Life and Letters is inscribed to Frothingham and dated February 1917. Nova Hibernia: Irish Poets and Dramatists of Today and Yesterday is inscribed to “Robert Frothingham” with a warm message ending “And so to a warmer Ireland,” dated February 16, 1917.
The matched original green-cloth first editions form a scarce literary association set, retaining a direct connection between Monahan and Frothingham. Both volumes are complete, sound, and clean, with light shelf wear and no dust jackets. Please review all photographs closely for exact condition and the full inscriptions.
