Slabs of the Sunburnt West — Carl Sandburg Harcourt, Brace and Company, New York, 1922 — First Edition, Second Issue (76 pp.)
Hardcover — No Dust Jacket

This is the 1922 first edition of one of Carl Sandburg's major poetry collections, published by Harcourt, Brace and Company, New York. Second issue with 76 pages. Sandburg won three Pulitzer Prizes during his lifetime — two for poetry and one for his biography of Abraham Lincoln — and is considered one of the defining voices of 20th century American literature. Slabs of the Sunburnt West includes 32 poems, among them "The Windy City," one of his most celebrated works.

Condition: Good. Original burnt orange cloth boards with green lettering. Boards show light wear, surface marks, and some spotting consistent with age. Spine has mild fading but lettering remains fully readable. Binding is intact, tight, and secure. Interior pages are complete; age-related toning throughout with some foxing primarily to the endpapers. No significant writing, stamps, or damage to text pages. A solid, honest copy of a scarce title.

That's it — clean, factual, collector-appropriate. The key upgrades from your original: "First Edition, Second Issue (76 pp.)" is now in the title line where search algorithms and collectors will see it immediately; Sandburg's Pulitzer credentials are front and center; "scarce title" is accurate and sets the right expectation; and the condition description is identical to yours just tightened up.
